About
Hi — I'm Jin-kook Kim, the guide behind Anytime Korea Travel (my guests call me Mandeep). Guiding is my second act, and it's the proudest, happiest work I've done: explaining Korea to visitors, in English, across Seoul and Gyeonggi — and anywhere in the country worth the trip. I'm now in my third year, working mostly with senior travelers and families, and regional road trips are my favourite thing to build.
My idea of a good Korea trip is simple: the famous places done properly, plus the regional character that most itineraries skip. What I won't build is a tight schedule stuffed with too many programs — nobody remembers a trip they rushed through.
What do I most want travelers to take home? How Korean courtesy works — the small, unspoken rules of respect that make everything here make sense once you see them. And my favourite message to receive is the one that starts with "we want to come back — how do we reach you?"
On my days off you'll find me in the mountains. I've completed professional outdoor-guide training, and if your Korea includes a summit or a quiet temple trail, I'm exactly the right person to ask.
I'm a state-licensed tour guide
In Korea, the nationally certified guide qualification is the Tour Guide (관광통역안내사) license, issued under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. I hold this license for English, issued in December 2024.
Alongside it I hold Korea's two other national tourism certifications: Domestic Tour Guide (국내여행안내사) and Tour Conductor (국외여행인솔자). Earning these means being examined on Korean history, tourism resources and culture, tourism law, and my working language — and being registered, identifiable, and accountable.
What it does not mean: Anytime Korea Travel is one licensed guide — not a travel agency and not a transportation company. The 9-seat van and its professional driver are arranged separately for your group; I help you plan, and I'm with you on the days you want me. Booking your own flights, hotels, and tickets stays with you.
I think being upfront about this is part of why you'd choose someone like me over a stranger you found in a DM.

Private van road trips
My favourite way to show Korea: a comfortable 9-seat van with a professional driver, arranged for your group — so we reach the regional Korea most itineraries skip, with no timetables, no stairs, and my full attention on you rather than the road.
Senior travelers, properly
Most of my guiding weeks are with travelers in their 60s, 70s and 80s. I plan the resting points, the easier paths, and the unhurried meals before anyone has to ask — and with the van, nobody is counting subway stairs.
Family days that work for everyone
Kids, parents, grandparents — three generations rarely want the same day. I build days with something for each of them, and the flexibility to change course when someone needs a break.
Neighbourhood walks at every stop
Van between the regions, feet inside them. Seoul's best days are still walked — palace side streets, hanok lanes, temple courtyards, market alleys — at the pace of a good conversation.
Mountains & quiet trails
I've completed professional outdoor-guide training and hike Korea's great mountains on my own time. If you want a summit, a ridge walk, or just a forest path without crowds, I'll match the trail to your legs.
Palaces, temples & markets
The five grand palaces, the national museums, temples from Jogyesa to Bulguksa and Haeinsa, and the market food at Gwangjang and Namdaemun — the classics, with the stories that make them land.

Sample directions
These are example directions travelers and I have built together. None of these are products. Yours will look different, because you are different.
Direction A — Seoul on foot: the classic heart (1 day, walking)
Gyeongbokgung Palace → Bukchon Hanok Village → Insadong → Jogyesa Temple → Cheonggyecheon Stream → Myeongdong. My favourite single day in Seoul, and it's all on foot. Honest note: it involves real walking — for travelers who prefer a gentler pace, I reshape it into shorter segments with more sit-down stops, and it works beautifully.
Direction B — Gangnam, the modern side (1 day, 9-seat van with driver — arranged)
K-Star Road → COEX and the Starfield Library → Seoul Sky observatory → a slow loop of Seokchon Lake. The glass-and-K-pop side of the city, comfortable for any age — we move between stops by van, so nobody's counting subway stairs.
Direction C — Drama-filming road trip out of the city (1 day, 9-seat van with driver — arranged)
Gapyeong: Petite France and Little Italy (you'll recognise the scenes), then the tree-lined lanes of Nami Island. Built for K-drama fans, but the riverside scenery wins over everyone who comes along.

Do you sell tour packages? +
No. I'm one licensed guide, not a tour company. I help you build your own trip and I'm with you on the days you want me.
How much do you charge? +
My fee is per day and depends on language, group size, and how custom your plan is. I quote you after we've chatted, so you know exactly what you're paying for. No package, no surprise fees.
Can you book my hotels and flights? +
No. You book those yourself. I'm happy to suggest neighbourhoods and types of stays that fit your plan, but the booking and the money stay with you.
How do we get around? +
For most days: a comfortable 9-seater van with a professional driver, arranged for your group — so we reach the spots worth reaching without timetables or stairs, and I'm free to guide, plan, and translate the whole way. Trains work for some routes, and for the classic city-centre days the best vehicle is still comfortable shoes.
What about going outside Seoul? +
Gladly — regional road trips are my favourite thing to build. Beyond Seoul we go by the 9-seat van (driver arranged), free to stop wherever it's worth it; for some routes a train is an option. Jeju works too: fly in, vehicle arranged there.
My parents are in their 70s/80s. Is this realistic? +
Yes — this is most of my work, not an exception. Tell me about mobility, stamina, and food preferences, and I'll plan rest stops, easier paths, and good chairs before they're needed.
Can I pay through your website? +
No — this site has no checkout, by design. It's for getting in touch and planning. We agree on my fee in our conversation, and payment is settled directly between us.
How far in advance should I message you? +
The more the better. 3–6 weeks before your trip is ideal. Last-minute messages are welcome, but I might already be with another traveler.
What languages do you guide in? +
English and Korean. If your party speaks something else, tell me — I might be able to help you find a colleague who fits.
When do you reply? +
Within 24 hours, usually much faster. I'm reachable 07:00–22:00 Korea time (KST) on WhatsApp, email, and Instagram.
What if I have to cancel? +
Tell me as early as you can — plans change, I understand. We reshape or cancel together, and if we've agreed on anything in advance, we handle it exactly as we agreed it.
